PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly and accurately achieve pattern matching when determining the parallax of a target based on a first and a second image. SOLUTION: Images of aiming targets 134a-134c placed in a right position PR are picked up using a right infrared camera 16R to obtain a right gray-scale image 54. Images of aiming targets 134a-134c placed in a left position PL are picked up using a left infrared camera 16L to obtain a left gray-scale image 58. The average value yra of the y-coordinates of the aiming targets 134a-134c in the cut area 162R of a preset right image is determined and the average value yla of the y-coordinates of the aiming targets 134a-134c in the cut area 162L of a left image is determined.
