PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the burden required to confirm if design takes the suppression of unnecessary electromagnetic noise into consideration. SOLUTION: A method for evaluating the distance between components includes a storage process for storing drawing data described by means of CAD; a search process for searching each drawing among the stored drawing data for a first component that meets first search condition and a second component that meets second search condition; a division process for dividing the first and second components into component elements not greater than a set size; a calculation process for calculating the distance between the component element of the first component and the component element of the second component which are divided from each other; a first extraction process for extracting combinations that minimize the distance between the component element of the first component and the component element of the second component; a second extraction process for extracting from the combinations a combination that maximizes the distance between the component elements; and a definition process for defining the first component as a defective component if the distance between the component elements of the combination that maximizes the distance, extracted in the second extraction process, exceeds a predetermined threshold.
