PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium reader/writer using a recording medium reader/writer mounted on the other computer apparently as an external recording medium reader/writer. SOLUTION: In this recording medium reader/writer 100 where a plurality of interfaces 30 and 40 configured of one or more types are arranged, the priority order of the interfaces 30 and 40 is set for every interface, and when the plurality of computers 110 and 120 are simultaneously connected to the interfaces 30 and 40, a control means 70 incorporated in the recording medium reader/writer 100 validates the interface 30 or 40 whose priority order is set so as to be the most significant, and interrupts the other interface 40 or 30.
