PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing polymeric soap, by using coal as a raw material, so that influence of exhaustion and increase in prices of petroleum resources is relieved by the coal. SOLUTION: This method for producing the polymeric soap comprises adding a polymerizable monomer to a resin component given by using the coal as the raw material and then subjecting them to radical graft polymerization with electron beam irradiation, or comprises adding an organic solvent to the resin component given by using the coal as the raw material, dissolving the component in the solvent, heating them, adding the polymerizable monomer having an OH group and a polymerization initiator thereto under heating, mixing them, and subjecting the resin component and the polymerizable monomer to the radical graft polymerization.
