PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the efficiency of collecting empty cans by compressing the empty cans for reducing the volume of the can when the cans are collected, enabling the easy carrying of the cans, and reduce the volume of the empty can by easy operation. SOLUTION: The empty cans in an empty can storage box are put in a compressing volume-reduction container for empty cans which is a strong flexible fiber bag. Then, the empty cans in the bag are crushed together with the bag by the tire of a vehicle, and the empty cans which are compressed and reduced in volume are collected together with the bag. Since the empty cans are compressed and reduced in volume, a large number of the empty cans are collected so as to be put on a vehicle at a time, so that working efficiency is improved.
