PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolating device preventing an underframe from overturning even if external force such as an earthquake is applied, by allowing the underframe to rise stably even if enlarging a base isolating range by narrowing the spacing in the underframe moving direction of wheels arranged at the underframe, to enlarge the moving range of the underframe with respect to rails limited in length. SOLUTION: This base isolating device has the underframe 12 having a placing face for articles or an article storage means 10; a plurality of wheels 14 rotatably fitted with a shaft to the bottom part of the underframe 12; a plurality of rails 40 on which the wheels 14 are placed to move the underframe 12 in case of an earthquake; and an overturning preventing means 6 for preventing the underframe 12 from overturning. The overturning preventing mens 6 has a roller 26 rotatably supported to the bottom part of the underframe 12, and a roller guide 28 for rolling the roller 26 following the movement of the underframe 12 and regulating the vertical position of the roller 26.
