PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle preventing fog from occurring on a windshield and a passenger's cheek from burning even if rear air conditioner is operated simultaneously with a front air conditioner in a vehicle to which dual air conditioners are mounted. SOLUTION: The air conditioner for the vehicle is comprised of a front air conditioner 60, a rear air conditioner 80, and a control unit 35. The front air conditioner includes a front air conditioning duct 10 having a front defroster air outlet 28a and a front foot air outlet 28c, and a front heater core 24 stored inside the front air conditioning duct. The rear air conditioner includes a rear air conditioning duct 82 having a rear foot air outlet 84b, and a rear heater core 86 stored inside the rear air conditioning duct. The front air conditioner is switchable between a foot mode and a foot defroster mode, and the rear air conditioner can be set to be the foot mode. At a time of dual operation operating of the front air conditioner and the rear air conditioner, an area of the foot defrost mode of the front air conditioner is expanded to prevent the fog on the windshield.
