<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device which is stable in a developer electrification amount of developer on a developer carrier and low in cost, and can be downsized, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the developing device. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device has the developer carrier 1 which is rotatable and carries the developer on the surface, an electrification regulation member 2 which is arranged opposite to the developer carrier 1 and regulates electrification of the developer on the developer carrier 1, an electrification bias supply means 3 for supplying electrification bias for performing electrification of the developer between the electrification regulation member 2 and the developer carrier 1 and an electrification control means 4 for monitoring an energization state at the time of supplying the electrification bias and controlling the electrostatic bias so as to maintain the amount of electrification of the developer at a reference value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
