<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply control apparatus with a configuration, whereby abnormality can be detected with high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: A semiconductor switch element 11 of the power supply control apparatus 10 is configured as a single chip, wherein a power MOSFET 15, a sense MOSFET 16 through which a sense current in response to a current quantity of the power MOSFET 15 flows, and an abnormality detection circuit 13 for detecting the abnormality of the current flowing through the power MOSFET 15, on the basis of a sense current and a threshold current. An externally mounted resistor 12 is provided to the outside of the semiconductor switching element 11, one terminal of the externally mounted resistor 12 is connected to a source terminal of the power MOSFET 15, the other terminal of the externally mounted resistor 12 is connected to an external terminal P4 of the semiconductor switch element 11, and a current, according to the voltage level Vs at a connecting point of the one terminal, flows through the externally mounted resistor 12 via the external terminal P4. The abnormality detection circuit 13 is connected to the external terminal P4 and provides abnormality signals SC, OC on the basis of the comparison between threshold currents Ia, Ib, based on the current through the external terminal P4 with the sense current. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
