PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner for saving labor for cleaning a filter and a suction grill. SOLUTION: The air cleaner comprises the dust collecting filter 103 for trapping dust in air flowing from an air inlet 112, and rotary brushes 105a, 105b and suction nozzles 106a, 106b for removing the dust trapped by the dust collecting filter 103. The dust collecting filter 103 is exposed to the room side and serves as a cover of the air inlet 112. The dust collecting filter 103 is automatically cleaned by the rotary brushes 105a, 105b and the suction nozzles 106a, 106b. Thus, the dust deposited on the dust collecting filter 103 is automatically removed therefrom as well as labor for cleaning is saved because of no existence of the suction grill in the air inlet 112.
