PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bring about white balance state in a short time when the same scene is photographed for a long time. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises an imaging means, a means for detecting color information and luminance information from the output signal of the imaging means, and a means performing white balance correction of the output signal from the imaging means. Information of white balance correction operation acquired before is compared with current information of white balance correction operation, and a transition is made to a mode for performing white balance correction by using the information of white balance correction operation acquired before.
