PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismic isolation damper which is available together with a seismic isolator, for instance, to minimize vibration energy, and particularly a seismic isolation damper which has a U-shaped damper main body, wherein the seismic isolation damper prevents a bent portion of the U-shaped damper main body from hanging, to thereby ensure its vibration energy absorbing performance stably over a long period of time. SOLUTION: The seismic isolation damper is available together with the seismic isolator to minimize vibration energy transmitted to a building structure at the time of an earthquake. The seismic isolation damper is comprised of the damper main body 1 which is made of a metal such as lead and shaped by bending into an almost U shape, and a support member 3 which is arranged under the damper main body 1, for preventing the bent portion 12 of the damper main body from hanging. The support member 3 is disposed in a manner abutting on the damper main body 1 or almost abutting on the same, for instance. It is preferred that the support member 3 has a flat and smooth upper surface and is made of steel or a material having an almost equivalent hardness to that of the steel.
