PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device where an occurrence of a fixing failure just after starting is prevented and a temperature rise at an end part when paper continuously passes can be prevented. SOLUTION: The fixing device provided with a thin fixing roller 2 is provided with a temperature detecting element 5 arranged in a center of the fixing roller 2, a first fixing heater 6 heating a whole paper passing region of the fixing roller 2, a second fixing heater 7 heating an end part of the fixing roller 2 and a control means controlling to energize the first and second fixing heaters 6 and 7 when the fixing roller 2 is started and to energize only the first fixing heater 6 at time except for start time of the fixing roller 2.
