POLYVINYL ALCOHOL-BASED RESIN AND ITS USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new polyvinyl alcohol-based resin which has excellent aqueous solution viscosity stability, high speed coatability, reactivity with cross-linking agents, and water solubility. SOLUTION: This polyvinyl alcohol-based resin having carboxy group-containing alkyl groups in side chains. The resin is characterized by saponifying a copolymer of a vinyl ester-based monomer with a carboxy group-containing alkyl group-having unsaturated monomer.
