PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition exhibiting high rigidity and a low loss property and a pneumatic tire excellent in driving stability using the rubber composition. SOLUTION: The rubber composition comprises a modified natural rubber, obtained by graft-polymerizing a polar group-containing monomer onto a natural rubber latex followed by coagulation and drying, and a thermosetting resin.
