The image processing device comprises a gradation conversion processing unit (162) for subjecting image data obtained by photographing an object, to a gradation conversion processing on the basis of gradation conversion characteristics having a predetermined shift amount (S) and a predetermined gradient (G), a frequency enhancement processing unit (163) for subjecting the gradation-converted image data to a frequency enhancement processing on the basis of frequency enhancement characteristics or the characteristics of enhancement in individual frequencies, and an image processing condition calculation unit (130) for determining the gradation conversion characteristics and for calculating the frequency enhancement characteristics on the basis of the gradation conversion characteristics. The image processing condition calculation unit calculates the gradation conversion characteristics in the state of a reduced gradient (G), and calculates the frequency enhancement characteristics on the basis of the gradation characteristics so as to execute the frequency enhancement processing from a low-frequency range.</p>
