One, several or all single-quadrant DC converters (10,20) are replaced by power-side connection compatible functional blocks comprising internal power stores. The functional blocks have at least one additional switching state in which the output voltage is more positive than for the single-quadrant DC converters, and at least one further additional switching state in which the output voltage is more negative than for the single-quadrant DC converters.
