摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery enhancing a yield and reliability, and capable of charging at high voltage of 4.4-4.6 V vs. lithium, and to provide its charging method. <P>SOLUTION: In the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery equipped with a positive electrode 11 having a positive active material, a negative electrode 12 having a negative active material, and a nonaqueous electrolyte having a nonaqueous solvent and an electrolyte salt, the positive active material is comprised of a lithium cobalt composite oxide to which at least zirconium and magnesium are added and a lithium nickel manganese composite oxide having layer structure. The potential of the positive active material is 4.4-4.6 V vs. lithium.
