<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plugging material for a molten metal tapping hole capable of improving a working environment by using a binder containing less hazardous substances and having an excellent durability rather than a plugging material using a conventional binder. <P>SOLUTION: The plugging material for a molten metal tapping hole is prepared by mixing 10-20 mass% in an external ratio of compositionally adjusted coal tar with a content of benzo[a]pyrene of ≤0.05 mass% and a content of free phenol of ≤0.5 mass% to 100 pts.mass of 2 or 3 kinds of refractory materials selected from the group consisting of pyrophyllite, alumina, silicon carbide, silicon nitride, coke, and a clayey material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
