METHOD FOR PRODUCING INORGANIC PARTICULATE DISPERSION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING INK-JET RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an inorganic particulate dispersion excellent in dispersibility in which a high viscosity inorganic particulate dispersion can be stably supplied, and to provide a method for producing an ink-jet recording medium which is excellent in gloss and crack resistance, and can provide high image density, by using the dispersion.

SOLUTION: The method for producing an inorganic particulate dispersion comprising continuously dispersing inorganic particulates by two or more dispersing machines comprises the steps of continuously supplying inorganic particulates and an aqueous medium A to a first dispersing machine and dispersing them in the machine to prepare an inorganic particulate dispersion and discharging the inorganic particulate dispersion from the first dispersing machine and continuously supplying the same to a second dispersing machine, wherein the inorganic particulate dispersion discharged from the first dispersing machine has a viscosity of 10 Pa s or more; the inorganic particulate dispersion discharged from the first dispersing machine is moved through piping by substantially gravity only to be supplied to the second dispersing machine; and 50% or more of the total length of the piping between the first dispersing machine and the second dispersing machine is at an angle of 60 degrees or less to the vertical direction.
