<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display provided with a rotation mechanism of a display screen, wherein the product life of a cold cathode fluorescent tube is not shortened. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display 10 wherein positions of vertical and horizontal sides of the display screen 12 can be changed by rotating the display screen 12, includes: a backlight 15a wherein electrodes 20 are provided at both end parts of each tube 18a having a curved part 16 and the both electrodes 20 are provided in one direction to the tubes 18a; and the rotation mechanism 17 rotating and changing the positions of vertical and horizontal sides of the display screen 12 so that the electrodes 20 provided on the vertical side C or the horizontal side A of the display screen 12 are transferred from the vertical side C to the horizontal side A or from the horizontal side A to the vertical side C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
