PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING VARIANT CROSS-SECTION COIL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for manufacturing a variant cross-section coil in which random deformation of a wire can be prevented in pressing. SOLUTION: Ends 21 and 22 of an intermediate coil body 2 are cut into planar shape along a plane intersecting the axial direction perpendicularly. Subsequently, the intermediate coil body 2 is pressed vertically along the axial direction to obtain a variant cross-section coil in which cross-sectional shape of the wire is different in places but substantially trapezoidal as a whole. Consequently, random deformation of the wire can be prevented effectively and a variant cross-section coil where the wire is deformed gradually at a constant rate can be obtained.
