PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commodity sales data processor and commodity sales data processing method that can extend a period for replacement of a Compact Flash (R) card for storing commodity sales data. SOLUTION: The commodity sales data processor comprises a Compact Flash (R) card 10 for storing in alternate sectors as much commodity sales data as the cumulative number of alternate sectors reaches a threshold value based on the result of determination by an alternate sector determination means, and a central processing unit CPU1 for storing the commodity sales data in a memory 3 when the number of alternate sectors exceeds the threshold value, and writing multiple commodity sales data stored in the memory 3 collectively in the Compact Flash (R) card 10 in response to completion of commodity sales data registration.
