PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-tank oil pan capable of properly controlling the stored amount of oil in a first chamber according to the operating state of a lubricated mechanism and a lubricating device capable of properly lubricating according to the operating state by installing the double tank oil pan. SOLUTION: An oil pan separator 32 for dividing a space in an oil pan cover 31 into the first chamber 30a and a second chamber 30b is disposed in the space. An actuator 33 is installed between the bottom part 31a of the oil pan cover 31 and the bottom part 32a of the oil pan separator 32. The actuator 33 is so formed that its length can be adjusted by controlling from the outside according to the operating state of an internal combustion engine. The height of the oil pan separator 32 is adjusted by adjusting the length of the actuator 33 to regulate the amount of the oil in the first chamber 30a. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
