PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotograpic photoreceptor which has high sensitivity, excellent eletrostatic stability and excellent NOx resistance and further exhibits excellent stable electrostatic characteristics even after exposure and developing process. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor is characterized by a conductive base material with a photoreceptor layer formed on the material wherein the photoreceptor layer contains a charge generating agent and an auxiliary dispersion pigment. As for the above auxiliary dispersion pigment, the pigment having no OH group in a molecule is used, wherein water used for extracting the pigment exhibits the electric conductivity of at most 25μS/cm. The pigment is, for example, prepared by washing a condensation azo-based pigment or an isoindolinone-based pigment having no OH group in a molecule with water of an electrical conductivity of at most 10μS/cm.
