PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire extinguishing apparatus for household use which can be used for initial fire extinguishment without physical burdens even for a person with small finger pressure and grip power such as an elderly person since a lock state is attained when the part of a discharge lever projected from the mechanism frame body of a fire extinguishing material discharge mechanism is held once and the entire amount of a fire extinguishing material can be discharged just by holding it after that. SOLUTION: The fire extinguishing apparatus comprises the mechanism frame body 3 fixed to the frame closure 1a of a fire extinguishing material storage container 1 and a discharge pipe 5 in an inverse L shape equipped in the inside so as to be lowered, and when the discharge pipe 5 is pushed down, its lower end port 6 pushes open the valve part 2 of the fire extinguishing material storage container 1 and the fire extinguishing material is discharged toward the side part. A discharge lever 14 whose lower side is swung back and forth with an upper part as a fulcrum is charged so as to be swung back and forth inside the mechanism frame body 3 so as to be positioned on the L shape inner side of the discharge pipe 5 in the inverse L shape. Also, when the discharge lever 14 is held at the time of use (discharge), the discharge pipe 5 is pushed down and the projection part 18 of itself is locked with the mechanism frame body 3 to attain a lever lock state at the holding position.
