A device for varying the pressure of a gas. The device contains a rotatable disk with an axis of rotation, a top surface and a bottom surface; at least two vanes are radially connected to the rotatable disk. The device also contains a first stator with a first centerline disposed near said top surface of the rotatable disk, a second stator with a second center disposed near the bottom surface of said rotatable disk, and a third stator with a third centerline disposed above the rotatable disk. The axis of rotation of the rotatable disk is coincident with both the first centerline of said first stator, second centerline of second stator, and the third centerline of said third stator.
