<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording and reproducing device provided with a mechanism capable of precisely detecting the terminal end or the starting end of a magnetic tape by reliably preventing occurrence of malfunction caused by incidence of external light while it has simplified and inexpensive constitution. <P>SOLUTION: The magnetic recording and reproducing device is provided with light-emitting elements 19 and 20, a pair of reflection mirrors 17 and 18, and light-receiving elements 21 and 22. The light-emitting elements 19 and 20 are arranged for emitting light toward projection paths respectively from the inside of a loaded tape cassette 1 to respective light pass-through holes 4 and 7 on both sides of the tape cassette. The pair of reflection mirrors 17 and 18 are arranged facing each other adjacently on the outer side with respect to the light pass-through holes 4 and 7 on both sides of the tape cassette. The light-receiving elements 21 and 22 are arranged for receiving reflected light which has passed through light-receiving paths Lc and Ld inside of the tape cassette 1 from the light pass-through holes 4 and 7 after it is emitted from the light-emitting elements 19 and 20 and reflected by the reflection mirrors 17 and 18. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
