PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical scanning apparatus capable of printing with a high quality and an image forming apparatus using the same. SOLUTION: The optical scanning apparatus is provided with an incidence optical system 15 for guiding a light beam emitted from a light source part 1 to a deflection part 5; an imaging optical system 6 provided with a diffracting surface 14 having a power at least in a sub-scanning section that guides the light beam deflected by the deflection part on a surface to be scanned 7; and a surface inclination correction function, in which a principal ray of the light beam is always positioned outside of a main scanning section during scanning.
