PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holographic optical memory recording device with which multiple recording is made at a higher speed. SOLUTION: The recording device includes: a light source; a beam splitter; a space optical modulator which modulates the luminance of a first beam by recording information; a first Fourier transform lens which converges emitted object light and projects the same to a recording medium; a phase modulator which is provided with a phase shift element array to apply respectively prescribed amounts of phase shifts to incident light beams and emits a second light beam by phase modulation as reference light by the phase shift element array; a phase modulation driving circuit; and a second Fourier transform lens which converges the reference light emitted from the phase modulator and projects the same to the recording medium. A plurality of phase code patterns are formed by a combination of the phase shift amounts of the phase shift element array. The phase shift amounts are obtained by satisfying the condition that the sum of vectors with 0 on a complex plane regulated by the imaginary axis and real axis of the phase shift amounts as a starting point and the respective phases as an end point becomes zero and using a discrete cosine transform matrix as a basis function.
