PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To take measures in order to detected an abnormality statistically by a high-order cumulant based on data such as the number of intervals by grasping and detecting precisely vibration enlarged following progression of deterioration in a rotator such as a bearing or a gear, namely, by measuring a vibration signal generated from shock waves acquired from a measuring object. SOLUTION: In this state monitoring system, a device therefor or the like, the vibration signal or the like is grasped from the rotator such as the bearing or the gear, and a simplified absolutely-indexed high-order cumulant is calculated, and the result is compared with an absolutely-indexed high-order cumulant calculated when the shock waves are not generated, and the signal is determined to be an abnormal signal when the former is smaller.
