A heater for a fuel cell comprises a lead (2) having an electrically conductive region (2c) with an inlet (3) and outlet (4) for fuel cell (6) fluid, a transformer having more primary (22) than secondary (26) windings with the secondary being closed and including the conductive region. The primary is fed through a fuel cell connecting unit (14) and AC converter (12). An independent claim is also included for a fuel cell arrangement comprising the above.
