The method involves first moving wheel (4,5,6) with reference electrode (1a) and first electrode (2) which serves as a pair of electrodes of a capacitor having potential of voltage supply. The second moving wheel also has reference electrode (1b) and second electrode (3) which serves as a pair of electrode of a capacitor with potential of voltage supply. The method involves collection and determination of series of changes in the value of capacitor and then determining the direction of rotation from this change. An independent claim is also included for the device for determination of direction of rotation of moving wheel.
