An elevator system for groups of trolleys, e.g. baggage trolleys and shopping trolleys has groups of trolleys carried by elevator cabins, or handled by a paternoster elevator system. The elevator cages are fitted with sloping floors, or tilt mounted floors, to facilitate unloading groups of trolleys on selected levels simply by releasing a stop control. The groups of trolleys can be pushed into empty cages by a motorised tractor unit.
