<p>In a method for separating the vertebral channel from an animal carcass, in which the carcass is opened, drawn, suspended and held by the spread hind legs and processed by two cooperating separators travelling from the legs to the neck, the paths of the separators are automatically and/or manually inclined relative to each other before the abdomen surface, so that vertebral material is cut from the vertebrae in the form of a wedge carrying the vertebral channel. An independent claim is included for corresponding apparatus, in which the separators (1, 2) are inclined at an acute angle relative to each other, near the vertebrae (13), on their guides (3) and before the abdomen surface of the carcass (11), such that the cutting regions of the separators cross behind the vertebral channel (14).</p> |
