A crankset (24) is provided that is mounted on a crank spindle (25) rotatably mounted in a hanger component (20) of a bicycle and that meshes with a chain (22). The crankset (24) includes a plurality of sprockets (35, 36 37), a crank component (38), and a chain guard (39, 139, 239). The plurality of sprockets are lined up in the axial direction so that the number of teeth increases outward in the axial direction. The crank component (38) has a plurality of arm portions (40) extending radially for fixing the plurality of sprockets. The chain guard (39, 139, 239) is provided substantially in ring form on the inner side, the side disposed toward the hanger component (20), of the small-diameter sprocket (37) with the fewest teeth of the plurality of sprockets such that the gap (L1, L2) between the hanger component (20) and the inner side is smaller than the size of the chain (22).
