PURPOSE: Provided are carbon material having high charge/discharge capacity and excellent cycle property and a lithium secondary battery containing the carbon material, which has improved energy density and cycle property. CONSTITUTION: The carbon material(1) comprises a graphite particle(2) having a face distance(d002) of a (002) face by X-ray wide angle diffraction being less than 0.337nm, composite particles(3) dispersed and bonded around the graphite particle(2) and having a less particle size than the graphite particle(2), and an amorphous carbon membrane(4) coating the graphite particle(2) and the composite particles(3) and having a d002 of more than 0.37nm, wherein the composite particle(3) comprises a Si particle comprising crystalline silicon, conductive carbon material around the Si fineparticle, and a hard carbon membrane or a conductive polymer membrane coating the Si particle and the conductive carbon material. And the lithium secondary battery contains the carbon material(1) as an anode. |
