<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device such as a digital camera for reducing a time for image processing in the case of applying the image processing related to a face such as red-eye correction processing to image data acquired by imaging. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging device carries out discrimination as to whether or not a face of a person is included in a frame configuring a dynamic image at a prescribed time interval until the discrimination indicates an affirmative result during monitoring of an object by way of the dynamic image. When the discrimination indicates that a frame includes the face, the imaging device detects the position of the face from the frame and stores the position. The imaging device discriminates whether or not the face is included in a succeeding frame after a lapse of a prescribed time, detects the position of the face when the discrimination indicates affirmative, and stores the newly detected position of the face in place of the stored position of the face.
