PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a emulsion of silver salt of aliphatic carboxylic acid, a photosensitive silver halide emulsion, a silver salt photothermographic dry imaging material and an image formation method providing low fog, high maximum density and good image preservability. SOLUTION: In the emulsion of silver salt of aliphatic carboxylic acid in which silver salt of aliphatic carboxylic acid particles are formed by reacting an alkali metal salt of aliphatic carboxylic acid solution with a silver ion solution, the alkali metal salt of aliphatic carboxylic acid solution is prepared from an organic acid having a stearic acid content (A) of 95-99.99 mol% and an oleic acid content (B) of 0.01-2 mol% (provided that (A)+(B)≤100%).
