PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger such as a condenser to be used for a vehicular air conditioning system, suppressing the flow of solder material during soldering. SOLUTION: Header tanks 7, 9 are separated into a first member 21 having a tube insertion hole 33 into which the end of a tube 5 is inserted and a second member 23 having no tube insertion hole 33. The first member 21 is formed of a core material 21a with no solder material layer. During soldering, the first member 21 has contact with the solder material only on the joint surface to another member to be joined to the first member 21, including the tube, the second member 23, a blocking member 25, and a partition member 27, as well as an outer fin 3 and a side plate 11 depending on conditions. Thus, the solder material layer of the tube 5 is parted from the solder material layers of the header tanks 7, 9 with the first member 21 of the core material. The first member 21 therefore functions as a solder material flow interrupting part to prevent the solder material of the header tanks 7, 9 from moving out to the side of a heat exchanger core portion 1A where there are a number of capillary tube portions.
