PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress noise generated by an impulsive sound occurring when a travelling chain contacts with a ring in a mesh starting section, by constituting the ring of a chain sprocket with the ring with a cushion ring having a damping effect. SOLUTION: The outer peripheral surface of the elastic deformable cushion ring 8 contacts with the chain 10 in a mesh starting section and a mesh removing section of the chain and sprocket, the inner peripheral surface engages with an annular groove 7 formed on both sides of the sprocket 2, and hence the elastic deformable cushion ring 8 is eccentrically disposed on both sides of the sprocket 2. The cushion ring 8 is constituted with a laminated ring where a plurality of elastic rings 8a formed of extremely thin steel plate are laminated concentrically. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
