摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front differential of a four-wheel drive vehicle capable of precluding occurrence of a tight corner brake phenomenon and simplifying the constitution of a front axle device. SOLUTION: A ring gear 26 to mesh with a drive pinion 23 installed on an input shaft 21 is mounted on a driving wheel 24 rotatable and covering the mating ends of a left 10a and a right front drive shaft 10b. A differential pinion 29 to mesh with each side gear 30 mounted on the shaft end of the left 10a and right front drive shafts 10b is installed rotatably on a follower wheel 27 installed on the inside of the driving wheel 24. A two-way clutch 40 and a control mechanism 50 to control the engagement of the clutch 40 are installed between the driving wheel 24 and the follower wheel 27, and when the vehicle turns round a tight corner in the 4WD running condition, the clutch 40 is disengaged and changing-over is made into the 2WD running condition, and thereby occurrence of the tight corner brake phenomenon is precluded.
