PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic reciprocating compressor where a piston does not suffer friction or abrade, sludge does not occur, and a refrigerating machine oil does not degrade even when an HFC system refrigerant is used, and that can be stably operated for a long time, and to provide a freezing device using it. SOLUTION: In the hermetic compressor (a), a motor section 2 having a rotating shaft 6 and a reciprocating compression section 3 driven by the rotating shaft 6 of the motor section 2 are stored in a closed vessel 1, and the sucked HFC-based refrigerant or a refrigerant mainly containing the HFC-based refrigerant is compressed by the reciprocating compression section 3 and is delivered out of the closed vessel 1. Ether-based lubricating oil is used as refrigerating machine oil 10, and the piston 9 formed by applying alumite surface finishing to the reciprocating compression section 3 is used.
