PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rationally design a gravity type retaining wall by appropriately reflecting the actual motion of the gravity type retaining wall during an earthquake when designing the wall. SOLUTION: Usual main earth pressure is used as earth pressure acting from a rear face on the gravity type retaining wall in an earthquake. Seismic intensity for calculating an inertial force working on the retaining wall is set in 0.4, and front face earth pressure resistance is considered in the design. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
