PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure necessary cooling capacity without impairing driving performance of a vehicle, prevent overcooling and simplify a control, in a vehicular air conditioner having a variable displacement compressor using an engine as a source of power. SOLUTION: A control method of the refrigeration cycle 1 of the vehicular air conditioner which has the variable displacement compressor 2 using the engine 7 as a power source, comprises the steps of: determining a limit value of discharge capacity of the variable displacement compressor 2 by an engine speed or a numeric value which varies according to the engine speed; and controlling the variable displacement compressor 2 based on the limit value.
