The resistor wires (1-2') and (11-12') for heating the water bed are laid in a corresponding meandering pattern on both sides of an insulating carrier membrane (4). The terminals for the upper and lower meandering wires are reversed so that the current flows in opposite directions in the wires. Having the currents flow in opposite directions ensures that the magnetic fields cancel out. There are two insulating layers (16,18) on the upper and lower sides of the meandering wires.
