<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a software radio that can keep power consumption from increasing excessively and the heating value of a device from increasing, in addition to simultaneously increasing processing capability, reducing costs, and miniaturizing the scale of hardware. <P>SOLUTION: The software radio has a microprocessor that uses the same hardware in providing control that matches a plurality of radio communication methods. The microprocessor includes a memory, a computing circuit connected to the memory, and a clock control circuit that controls the clock of the computing circuit. The computing circuit has (m x n) computing elements arranged in a matrix, with m and n each being an integer of 2 or more. The (m x n) computing elements are interconnected by buses that can be freely connected in vertical and horizontal directions and in diagonal directions of ±45° to the vertical and horizontal directions.
