PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing nitrogen isotope15N, and a production method of sulfuric acid or calcium sulfate at low cost.

SOLUTION: In this15N production method, HNO3is brought into contact with SO2to generate NO, which is brought into liquid-gas contact with HNO3to concentrate15N in the HNO3. As SO2used for separation of the nitrogen isotope, SO2is used obtained by refining process gas of a sulfuric acid production process, or process gas for producing sulfuric acid by burning sulfur or a sulfur compound.
