<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shellfish treating method and a shellfish treatment apparatus suited to separating mass of shellfishes collected from a water intake channel of an electric power plant, collecting shells and bodies separately to effectively use all the shellfishes. <P>SOLUTION: Shellfishes 3 and seawater 2 are collected together, the water-dripped shellfishes 3 are instantaneously frozen by liquid nitrogen 41 of a freezing tank 40 to facilitate separation into shells and bodies, and crushing. The frozen shells 3 are crushed by the mill of a crusher 50 into small pieces of the shells and bodies. The crushed small pieces of shells and bodies are charged into water of a channel 61 of a separating collection apparatus 60, the small pieces of the shells are completely separated from the small pieces of bodies in water by the difference between the sedimentation distances due to the difference of specific gravity, and collected in respective corresponding collection vessels 74, 75. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
