<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information input device and a mobile terminal device using the same which allow handwritten information to be registered as it is and display handwritten information and handwritten information similar and relating to the handwritten information on a handwritten information display part at each time of input of handwritten information and allow desired handwritten information to be easily settled. <P>SOLUTION: The information input device is provided with; a handwritten information input part 2; a comparison and retrieval part 44 for retrieving handwritten information similar and relating to handwritten information described in a handwritten information input part 2, from a handwritten information storage part 22 on the basis of the handwritten information described in the handwritten information input part 2; a handwritten information temporary display part 4 for displaying handwritten information described in a handwritten information input frame and handwritten information retrieved by the comparison and retrieval means; a handwritten information settling part 41 for selecting and settling desired handwritten information from handwritten information displayed on the handwritten information temporary display part; and a settled handwritten information storage control part 47 for storing the settled handwritten information in the handwritten information storage part 22.
